Grajem Tours & Travel

GRAPHIC & WEB DESIGNER

The Original

Website

Our task was to audit and update the original website. This was to be done by bringing out brand consistency in the website. Create a mobile friendly website while retaining all the functionality of the old website while improving on some aspects of the website that enhance the customer experience across the website.

The New

Website

We designed a website based on the ruggedness of the African Safari terrain. Coupling the brand colours with a lot of white space and full screen imagery gave us a lot of space to manoeuvre the different elements that we felt were essential to the customer web experience.

The goal was to ease the convenience of booking for tours and excursions from anywhere in the world and hence boost the corresponding sales. This meant that we had to give precise and accurate information about the offerings of the company while making sure that it was all easy to read on any platform.

COLOUR INSPIRATION

Tents

& Landrovers

The first thing we chose was the colour. Inspired by old green landrovers that were used a few decades ago the colour is still used on many Safari vehicles in the country today. This colour scheme can also be seen in various tent designs and Khaki tour clothing.

The giraffe was one of the favourite animals to the client and was looking to integrate it into the logo. We choose to integrate it into the letter A because its the first letter in the word Africa.

Typeface Logo

The final result this was a simple typeface logo with the name of the company that is easy to read and is instantly recognisable on any platform. The logo is optimised for use on social media platforms as well a Landscape version that was used on the N

USABILITY

Mobile

First

We analysed user data and reviews from the old website to learn that a considerable number of clients access the website through their mobile phones.

As the number of smartphone users around the globe increases it is imperative to adopt a mobile first design philosophy where the usability of the website on all devices remains constant allowing different visitors to interact at will on whichever gadget they would prefer.

VISUALS

Rugged

Africa

When considering the customer journey, we thought it important to put the registration/ booking form on each of the destination and tour packages to ensure that the client has an easy time navigating. This eliminated the process of choosing a tour package and then searching for the bookings page. They can do it right there and then.

We also chose image boxes with rounded corner which are easier on the eye against the white background. The brand colours were consistent all through the site as strips across the page, the footer as well as buttons and text field borders.
